Job Description

Professor Zhang Jun's research group from the School of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences at Wuhan University is seeking 1-2 postdoctoral researchers and 2 research assistants for its research projects. The recruitment is ongoing and we sincerely welcome young talents to join us!

I. Team Introduction

Zhang Jun is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences, Wuhan University. He received his bachelor's degree from the Department of Chemistry at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2013. In 2016 and 2019, he obtained his master's and doctoral degrees from the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Tohoku University, Japan, under the supervision of Professor Hitoshi Miyasaka. In 2019, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Institute of Materials Research, Tohoku University. Since 2021, he has served as an assistant professor (PI) at the Institute of Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies and the Institute of Materials Research, Tohoku University. In early 2023, he joined the School of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences, Wuhan University, to conduct independent research.

The research direction of the research group focuses on the scientific frontier of "spin chemistry", including the design of framework materials (MOF, COF) and the study of their electrical/magnetic properties, the design of chiral framework materials and their photo/electrocatalytic properties, and the construction and functional transformation of magnetic framework materials. The group has received honors such as the National High-level Overseas Young Talent Program, the National Scholarship for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad, the JSPS Special Researcher, the Distinguished Researcher of Tohoku University, and the Rising Star Award of the International Coordination Chemistry Society. Several papers have been published in top international journals such as Nature Chem., J. Am. Chem. Soc. (4 papers), Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (3 papers), and Nature Commun., and some of the related work has been selected as cover articles and VIP papers.

II. Job Requirements

Candidates with a doctoral degree (or about to obtain one), relevant field experience, and solid academic and research capabilities are preferred, especially those with research backgrounds in areas such as photo/electrocatalysis, functional framework materials, chiral framework materials, etc.

2. Have published 1-3 academic papers in professional fields.

3. Possess a strong sense of teamwork, be willing to actively participate in team projects, and be capable of conducting independent research on related topics.

III. Job Benefits

The annual salary ranges from 250,000 to 400,000 RMB (including the portion from the research group). For exceptionally outstanding candidates, the salary will be negotiated. We can also recommend you to apply for the "Hongyi Postdoctoral" program and the key-funded postdoctoral program of Wuhan University. The specific salary will be determined in accordance with the relevant regulations of the university.
