Beijing University of Chinese Medicine
Founded in 1956, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) is one of the earliest institutions of higher education in Chinese medicine approved by the State Council. It serves as an educational base for cultivating high-level innovative talents in Chinese medicine, a demonstration base for reform in higher education of Chinese medicine, a research base for knowledge and technological innovation in Chinese medicine, a medical base for preventing and treating major and refractory diseases, a cultural base for promoting excellent traditional culture, and an international exchange base for advancing Chinese medicine to the world.
BUCM is the only institution of higher education in Chinese medicine included in the national "211 Project" and the "985 Advantageous Discipline Innovation Platform." In 2017, three disciplines—Chinese Medicine, Integrative Chinese and Western Medicine, and Chinese Materia Medica—were listed in the national "Double First-Class" construction disciplines. The university currently has three postdoctoral research stations: Chinese Medicine, Chinese Materia Medica, and Integrative Chinese and Western Medicine. #### I. Recruitment Qualifications and Benefits
##### (A) Recruitment Qualifications
1. **Basic Requirements**:
- Abide by national laws, have good ideological and moral character and professional ethics, and be in good physical and mental health.
- Love the cause of Chinese medicine; cross-disciplinary doctors willing to engage in Chinese medicine research are encouraged to apply.
- Generally under 35 years of age, with a doctoral degree obtained within no more than 3 years.
- **Research Postdoctoral Fellows**: Have high-quality academic achievements as the main contributor in the past three years. Possess strong scientific research innovation ability, teamwork awareness, and the ability to independently carry out scientific research, and can help the cooperating supervisor’s team produce high-level academic results.
- **Clinical Postdoctoral Fellows**: Outstanding fresh professional degree doctoral graduates or fresh academic doctoral graduates who have obtained a practicing physician qualification certificate and a standardized training certificate for resident physicians. In-service personnel participating in standardized training for residents or specialists are allowed to engage in clinical postdoctoral research. Have high-quality academic achievements as the main contributor in the past three years. Possess good medical research and clinical practice abilities, and have the potential to be trained as innovative and interdisciplinary top talents in clinical Chinese medicine.
2. Doctors trained by the university are generally not allowed to apply for postdoctoral positions in the same first-level discipline of the university’s postdoctoral research stations.
3. In-service staff of the university are not allowed to apply for postdoctoral positions in the university’s postdoctoral research stations.
##### (B) Related Benefits
1. **Remuneration**:
- Postdoctoral fellows in the university headquarters under the planned recruitment receive an annual salary of 180,000 yuan, and the university pays social insurance and housing provident funds for them. Social insurance (endowment, work-related injury, unemployment, and medical insurance) for postdoctoral fellows recruited by the university headquarters is paid in Beijing.
- Those selected into the "Hutian Postdoctoral Program" at the university headquarters will receive additional performance bonuses of up to 100,000 yuan over two years. The university encourages qualified secondary units, cooperating supervisors, and teams to provide rewards based on actual circumstances.
- Benefits for postdoctoral fellows in clinical medical colleges shall be implemented in accordance with the regulations of the affiliated hospitals.
- Benefits for self-funded postdoctoral fellows, in-service postdoctoral fellows, and jointly recruited postdoctoral fellows shall be implemented in accordance with the employment contract or work agreement.
- For postdoctoral fellows jointly recruited by Shenzhen Hospital, Xiamen Hospital, and Beijing-based units, the salary and benefits after admission shall be borne and directly paid by the non-Beijing hospitals, which will also pay the salary and social insurance. The personnel and administrative relations of the postdoctoral fellows shall be in the non-Beijing hospitals.
2. **Living Security**: Postdoctoral fellows at the university headquarters (excluding in-service full-time recruits) can apply for on-campus postdoctoral apartments in accordance with regulations.
3. **Research Support**: The university supports postdoctoral fellows in applying for various fund projects. Those selected into relevant national postdoctoral talent programs at the university headquarters will enjoy the corresponding postdoctoral position benefits of the university in addition to national funding, with the two parts of benefits paid in combination.
The university has established a youth talent development zone, smoothing the "full chain" of growth from "postdoctoral fellow—excellent young talent—high-level leading talent." Postdoctoral fellows who achieve landmark results during their tenure can apply for the Qingmiao Scholar position after leaving the station and enter the high-level talent cultivation zone.
