Job Description

North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) is a key national university directly under the Ministry of Education, and a core institution under the national "211 Project" and "985 Project Advantageous Discipline Platform" initiatives. In 2017, NCEPU was included in the national "Double First-Class" university list, marking the launch of a new journey to build world-class disciplines and a high-level research university. ### I. Position Types

The university offers two postdoctoral positions: **New Lecturer Postdoctoral** and **Regular Postdoctoral**.

- **New Lecturer Postdoctoral**: An integration of faculty recruitment and postdoctoral training, serving as a key channel for selecting and developing new faculty. Appointees are directly hired as lecturers with a term of 2–3 years. Those who pass the出站 assessment will sign an employment contract with the university, with their postdoctoral start date counting as the beginning of the first employment evaluation period.

- **Regular Postdoctoral**: Recruited for the university’s priority disciplines, academic teams led by distinguished faculty, and key research projects, with a term of 2 years. Outstanding performers may stay as faculty through the university’s recruitment process.

### II. Eligibility Criteria

1. Adhere to laws and regulations, demonstrate strong ideological and political integrity, ethical conduct, and academic ethics; excel in both moral character and academic performance; maintain good health; possess strong research capabilities, innovative potential, teamwork skills, and proficiency in verbal/written communication and classroom teaching.

2. Recent doctoral graduates, generally under 35 years of age. For New Lecturer Postdoctoral positions, the age limit is typically 32 years.

3. Preference is given to applicants with significant research achievements.

4. Commit to full-time postdoctoral research.

### III. Remuneration and Benefits

1. **New Lecturer Postdoctoral**: Entitled to benefits equivalent to a Level-10 Lecturer. The university provides an annual allowance of ¥50,000, a research start-up fund of ¥150,000, and a housing subsidy of ¥20,000/year for those not requiring university-provided accommodation.

2. **Regular Postdoctoral**: Annual salary of no less than ¥120,000.

3. Performance bonuses for research achievements, in accordance with university regulations.

4. Additional living allowances may be provided by cooperating supervisors, where feasible.

5. Comprehensive social insurance, medical insurance, and housing provident fund.

6. Encouragement to apply for national funding programs; all grants from national, provincial, or municipal authorities will be fully allocated to the recipient.

### IV. Introduction to Postdoctoral Research Stations

#### (1) Electrical Engineering Research Station

Established in 2001, it is hosted by the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering, and Department of Electronic and Communication Engineering. It boasts a team of postdoctoral supervisors, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and recipients of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund. Key platforms include:

- "985 Project Advantageous Discipline Innovation Platform"

- National Key Discipline of Power System and Its Automation

- Beijing Key Discipline of Electrical Engineering (Level-1)

- 8 national/provincial key laboratories and research centers (e.g., State Key Laboratory of New Energy Power Systems, Beijing Key Laboratory of High Voltage and Electromagnetic Compatibility).

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, total research funding reached ¥1.784 billion (average ¥446 million/year, a 254% increase from the "13th Five-Year Plan"), with ¥612 million in纵向 funding. The school has secured 5 national key R&D programs, 13 key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, and 29 sub-projects under national key R&D/smart grid programs.

#### (2) Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics Research Station

Founded in 2007, it is affiliated with the School of Energy, Power and Mechanical Engineering, Department of Power Engineering, and Department of Mechanical Engineering. Its supervisors include academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 973 chief scientists, and recipients of special government allowances. Disciplines cover engineering thermophysics, thermal energy engineering, power machinery, fluid machinery, refrigeration and cryogenics, and chemical engineering.

Since its establishment, it has recruited 84 postdoctoral researchers (26 currently in station). 34 have received funding from the National Natural Science Foundation or China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, including 11 National Youth Science Fund recipients and 2 Postdoctoral Innovation Talent Awardees. It was rated "Excellent" in the 2020 national postdoctoral station assessment.

**Research Directions**:

1. Energy and power: Safe, efficient, clean, and flexible operation of thermal, nuclear, and new energy power generation; advanced energy systems (e.g., multi-energy complementarity, CO

cycles).

2. Energy equipment: Ultra-supercritical coal-fired power plant equipment; wind turbine blades and transmission systems; photovoltaic/solar equipment; design, materials, and maintenance of heavy-duty/hydrogen gas turbines; high-efficiency, wide-margin compressors for multi-working-fluid power systems.

3. Energy and environment: Pollutant removal from thermal power; heavy metal and PM2.5 monitoring; CO

emission reduction and utilization.

4. Energy storage: Electrochemical materials/devices; mechanical/thermochemical storage; hydrogen production, transportation, and utilization; thermal energy storage; storage-integrated energy systems.

#### (3) Business Administration Research Station

Established in 2003, it is based in the School of Economics and Management and Department of Economics and Management. It features:

- Provincial Key Discipline of Technical Economy and Management

- 1 provincial key laboratory, 1 provincial experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 national virtual simulation teaching center, and 3 provincial research bases.

Disciplines include power market theory, technical economic evaluation, technological innovation management, power economics, sustainable development, optimization theory, and energy-environment studies. In the past 5 years, it has led over 60 national projects (e.g., national key R&D programs, major National Social Science Fund projects) and 370+ enterprise-funded projects, with total funding exceeding ¥200 million, ranking among top university经管院系.

**Research Directions**:

Power market theory and application; technical economic evaluation; technological innovation management; power economics; sustainable development; optimization theory and decision-making; energy, power, and environment; carbon finance; carbon markets.

#### (4) Management Science and Engineering Research Station

Founded in 2009, it is hosted by the School of Economics and Management and Department of Economics and Management. Its faculty includes national outstanding teachers, Beijing teaching masters, and Ministry of Education "New Century Excellent Talents." Key platforms:

- Beijing Key Discipline of Management Science and Engineering

- National Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center

In the past 5 years, it has led 30+ national projects (e.g., key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation) and publishes 150+ high-quality papers annually, forming a management school with distinct energy and power characteristics.

- State Key Laboratory of New Energy Power Systems (power generation process measurement and control platform)

#### (6) Nuclear Science and Technology Research Station

Founded in 2019, it is hosted by the School of Nuclear Science and Engineering. Supervisors include academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, national talent program awardees, and recipients of special government allowances. It features the Beijing Key Laboratory of Passive Nuclear Safety Technology. Disciplines cover nuclear power plant control and simulation, reactor neutron physics, thermal hydraulics and safety, new materials for nuclear energy, and nuclear science frontiers.

In the past 5 years, it has secured over ¥150 million in research funding, leading/participating in 60+ national projects (e.g., major national science and technology projects, key R&D programs) and 100+ enterprise projects, with multiple national/provincial awards.

**Research Directions**:

"Full-scope virtual simulation of nuclear power engineering"; reactor thermal hydraulics; radiation measurement and protection; nuclear electronics; reactor materials and structural mechanics; nuclear materials; X-ray CT and NMR imaging.

#### (7) Hydraulic Engineering Research Station

Established in 2023, it is based in the School of Hydraulic and Hydropower Engineering. Its faculty includes national talent program awardees, Beijing outstanding teachers, and Hong Kong Scholars. Key platforms: Smart Water Conservancy Virtual Simulation Center, Pumped Storage Comprehensive Test Center, and Hydraulics Laboratory. Disciplines cover hydrology, river dynamics, hydraulic structures, water conservancy engineering, and water environment.

Recent funding exceeds ¥200 million from national projects and enterprise commissions, with 10+ provincial awards (e.g., Dayu Water Conservancy Science and Technology First Prize).
