Job Description

North China Electric Power University is a key national university directly under the Ministry of Education, and a key construction university under the national "211 Project" and "985 Project Advantageous Discipline Platform". ### I. Position Settings

The university has newly-recruited lecturer postdoctoral positions and ordinary postdoctoral positions.

The newly-recruited lecturer postdoctoral position is an organic combination of the teacher employment system and the postdoctoral training system, and an important channel for the selection and training of new teachers in the university. They are directly appointed to the lecturer position, with an employment period of generally 2-3 years; those who pass the assessment upon completion of the postdoctoral period will sign an employment contract with the university, and the time of entering the postdoctoral station will be the starting time of the first employment period assessment.

Ordinary postdoctoral positions are for young talents recruited for the university's key developing disciplines, excellent teachers' academic teams, and key project needs, with an employment period of generally 2 years; those who perform excellently during the postdoctoral period can stay in the university as teachers through the teacher recruitment process.

### II. Application Conditions

1. Abide by laws and regulations, have good ideological and political performance, moral character and academic ethics, be excellent in both character and learning, be physically and mentally healthy, have strong scientific research ability, potential for innovative research, good team spirit, and good language and written expression skills as well as classroom teaching ability.

2. Recently graduated doctoral graduates, generally under 35 years old, and for newly-recruited lecturer postdoctoral positions, the age is in principle not more than 32 years old.

3. Applicants who have achieved remarkable scientific research results will be given priority.

4. Engage in postdoctoral research work on a full-time basis.

### III. Remuneration and Benefits

1. Newly-recruited lecturer postdoctoral researchers will enjoy various benefits in accordance with the standard of lecturer level 10 in the university. The university provides a newly-recruited lecturer postdoctoral allowance of 50,000 yuan/year and a research start-up fund of 150,000 yuan. Those who do not need accommodation provided by the university will receive a housing subsidy of 20,000 yuan/year.

2. The annual salary for ordinary postdoctoral researchers is not less than 120,000 yuan.

3. The scientific research achievements of postdoctoral researchers will be awarded performance rewards in accordance with the relevant regulations of the university.

4. Cooperative supervisors who are able to do so can provide living allowances for postdoctoral researchers.

5. Provide postdoctoral researchers with comprehensive social insurance, medical insurance, housing provident fund and other benefits.

6. Encourage postdoctoral researchers to apply for various national funding and fund projects, and all the funds obtained from the state, relevant departments and municipal levels will be fully used for the recipients.

### IV. Introduction to Postdoctoral Research Stations

#### (I) Electrical Engineering Research Station

Established in 2001, it relies on the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Department of Electronic and Communication Engineering. It has a large number of postdoctoral cooperative supervisors led by domestic and foreign high-level talents such as academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and winners of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund. It has the "985 Project Advantageous Discipline Innovation Platform", the national key discipline of Power System and Its Automation, and the first-class key discipline of Electrical Engineering in Beijing; 8 national and provincial key laboratories and research centers, such as the State Key Laboratory of New Energy Power Systems, the Beijing Key Laboratory of High Voltage and Electromagnetic Compatibility, the Beijing Engineering Research Center of Energy and Power Information Security, and the Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center of Electric Energy Conversion and Smart Electricity Utilization, providing first-class research conditions and platforms for academic research and technological innovation. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the cumulative research contract funds reached 1.784 billion yuan, with an average annual fund of 446 million yuan, an increase of 254% compared with the average annual fund during the "13th Five-Year Plan"; the cumulative vertical funds reached 612 million yuan. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the school has obtained 5 national key R&D programs, smart grid major special projects, national defense science and technology major special projects, 13 major and key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, and 29 national key R&D programs/smart grid major special projects.

Research directions: New power transmission and transformation technologies and equipment, large-scale energy storage grid-connected control and flexible operation of systems, protection and safety control of new energy power systems, multi-information fusion and integrated energy systems, energy internet information and communication technologies, smart technologies for power internet of things, new power system forms and market mechanisms, new energy grid connection and power prediction, advanced electrical materials and electrical equipment, design and control of new motor systems.

Preferred majors: Electrical engineering, electrical engineering-related, electronic information, information and communication engineering, electronic science and technology, chemical engineering and technology, materials, materials science and engineering, mechanics and other related majors.

#### (II) Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics Research Station

Established in 2007, it relies on the School of Energy, Power and Mechanical Engineering, the Department of Power Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering. It has a large number of postdoctoral cooperative supervisors led by domestic and foreign high-level talents such as academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 973 chief scientists, and recipients of special government allowances from the State Council. It has disciplinary directions such as engineering thermophysics, thermal energy engineering, power machinery and engineering, fluid machinery and engineering, refrigeration and cryogenic engineering, and chemical engineering. Since its establishment, it has recruited 84 postdoctoral researchers of various types, with 26 currently in the station. 34 person-times have received funding from the National Natural Science Foundation and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, including 11 recipients of the National Natural Science Foundation Youth Fund, 1 recipient of the Hong Kong Scholars Program, 2 recipients of the Postdoctoral Innovation Talent Support Program, 1 recipient of the China Association for Science and Technology Youth Talent Support Project, 3 recipients of the Beijing Youth Talent Support Project, 1 recipient of the Overseas Doctor Talent Introduction Program, 4 recipients of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation Special Funding, and 16 recipients of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation General Funding. In 2020, it was rated as excellent in the national postdoctoral research station evaluation.

Research directions: (1) Energy and power: safe, efficient, clean and flexible operation of thermal power, nuclear power and new energy power generation; advanced energy systems such as multi-energy complementarity and CO2 cycles. (2) Energy equipment: ultra-supercritical coal-fired power plant equipment; wind turbine blades and transmission systems; photovoltaic/solar energy equipment; design, process, materials and operation and maintenance of systems and components such as heavy-duty/hydrogen gas turbines; high-efficiency and wide-margin compressors for multi-working fluids in power generation systems. (3) Energy and environment: removal of pollutants from thermal power generation; monitoring and control of heavy metals and PM2.5; CO2 emission reduction and utilization. (4) Energy storage: electrochemical energy storage materials, devices and processes; mechanical energy storage; thermochemical energy storage; hydrogen production, transportation and utilization technologies; thermal energy storage; energy storage and integrated energy systems.

Preferred majors: Energy and power (including new energy, energy storage, hydrogen energy and other related majors), power engineering and engineering thermophysics, mechanical engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering and technology, materials, materials science and engineering, mechanics, civil engineering, environmental science and engineering and other related majors.

#### (III) Business Administration Research Station

Established in 2003, it relies on the School of Economics and Management, the Department of Economics and Management. It has a provincial and ministerial key discipline of Technical Economy and Management, 1 provincial and ministerial key laboratory, 1 provincial and ministerial experimental teaching demonstration center, 1 national virtual simulation teaching center, and 3 provincial and ministerial research bases.

The school has disciplinary directions such as power market theory and application, technical and economic evaluation theory and application, technological innovation management, power economic management, technological progress and sustainable development, optimization theory and technical and economic decision-making, energy, power and environment. In the past five years, it has successively presided over more than 60 national-level projects such as national key R&D programs, major projects of the National Social Science Fund, the Program of Introducing Talents of Discipline to Universities, general and youth projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, general projects of the National Social Science Fund, as well as a number of provincial and ministerial research projects, and more than 370 enterprise horizontal projects, with research funds reaching 200 million yuan, ranking among the top of economic and management colleges in national universities.

Research directions: Power market theory and application, technical and economic evaluation theory and application, technological innovation management, power economic management, technological progress and sustainable development, optimization theory and technical and economic decision-making, energy, power and environment, carbon finance, carbon market, etc.

Preferred majors: Business administration, management science and engineering, electrical engineering, power engineering and engineering thermophysics, economics, mathematics, computer and other related majors.

#### (IV) Management Science and Engineering Research Station

Established in 2009, it relies on the School of Economics and Management, the Department of Economics and Management. It has a faculty team composed of national excellent teachers, Beijing teaching masters and excellent teachers, Beijing model teachers of ethics, and new century excellent talents of the Ministry of Education. It has the Beijing Key Discipline of Management Science and Engineering, a national virtual simulation experimental teaching center, the Ministry of Education "111 Talent Introduction Base", a Beijing Key Laboratory, and a Beijing higher education demonstration in-school innovation practice base. In the past five years, it has successively presided over more than 30 national-level projects such as key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, key projects of the National Social Science Fund, general and youth projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, general projects of the National Social Science Fund, as well as a large number of provincial and ministerial research projects. It publishes more than 150 high-quality academic papers annually, with increasing academic influence, forming a management school with distinctive energy and power characteristics.

Research directions: Management science and application, energy management theory and methods, project management theory and methods, energy data science and application, risk management and decision-making theory, energy economy and low-carbon development, carbon metering and dual control of carbon emissions, etc.

Preferred majors: Management science and engineering, business administration, electrical engineering, power engineering and engineering thermophysics, economics, statistics, mathematics, computer and other related majors.

#### (V) Control Science and Engineering Research Station

Established in 2012, it relies on the School of Control and Computer Engineering, the Department of Automation and the Department of Computer Science. It has a large number of excellent supervisors such as academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, national advanced individuals of teacher ethics, winners of national talent programs, winners of the Capital Labor Medal, and Beijing teaching masters. It has built scientific research platforms and teams such as the State Key Laboratory of New Energy Power Systems - New Technology Experimental Platform for Power Generation Process Measurement and Control, the Beijing Key Laboratory of New Technology and Systems for Industrial Process Measurement and Control, the Beijing Engineering Research Center of Electric Power Information Technology, the Ministry of Education Innovation Team of Combustion and Advanced Detection Technology, and the "111 Talent Introduction Base" for Intelligent Distributed Energy Systems. It has disciplinary directions such as control theory and control engineering, detection technology and automation devices, systems engineering, pattern recognition and intelligent systems.

In recent years, the school has undertaken national key R&D program key special projects, national science and technology support program projects, key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation as the leading unit, with a total research fund of more than 300 million yuan, and has won 1 first prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, 2 second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and more than 30 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards.

Research directions: Intelligent power generation theory and technology, virtual power plants and integrated energy systems, new energy power generation control and operation and maintenance, data modeling and optimal control of new energy power systems, distributed control of networked systems, intelligent control theory and application, artificial intelligence technology and application, power cyber-physical security and privacy protection.

Preferred majors: Automation, electronic information, computer and other related majors.

#### (VI) Nuclear Science and Technology Research Station

Established in 2019, it relies on the School of Nuclear Science and Engineering. It has a large number of postdoctoral cooperative supervisors led by high-level talents such as academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, winners of national talent programs, Beijing teaching masters, and recipients of special government allowances from the State Council. It has the Beijing Key Laboratory of Passive Nuclear Energy Safety Technology. It has research directions such as nuclear power plant control and simulation, nuclear reactor neutron physics and radiation protection, nuclear reactor thermal hydraulics and safety, new materials and their applications in the nuclear energy field, frontier theories of nuclear science and particle detection. In the past five years, the total research funds have exceeded 150 million yuan, presided over or participated in more than 60 national science and technology major projects, national key R&D programs, national major scientific instrument development projects, key and major projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, more than 100 enterprise commissioned research projects, and won a number of national and provincial teaching and scientific awards.

Research directions: "Full-scope virtual simulation of nuclear power engineering" experiment, nuclear reactor thermal hydraulics, radiation measurement and radiation protection, nuclear electronics, nuclear reactor materials and structural mechanics, nuclear materials, X-ray CT and nuclear magnetic resonance imaging.

Preferred majors: Nuclear engineering, nuclear science and technology, power engineering and engineering thermophysics, materials, materials science and engineering, physics, chemical engineering and technology, energy and power and other related majors.

#### (VII) Hydraulic Engineering Research Station

Established in 2023, it relies on the School of Hydraulic and Hydropower Engineering. It has an international and engineering-oriented high-level faculty team composed of winners of national talent programs, recipients of special government allowances from the State Council, Beijing excellent teachers, Beijing Association for Science and Technology Youth Talent Support Project and Hong Kong Scholars Program. It has built a platform system of civil and hydraulic multi-disciplinary cross-complementarity, including the Smart Water Conservancy Virtual Simulation Experiment Center, the Pumped Storage Comprehensive Test Center, and the Hydraulics Laboratory. Research directions cover hydrology and water resources, river dynamics and hydroinformatics, hydraulic structures and geotechnical engineering, water conservancy and hydropower engineering, water environment and water ecology, etc. In recent years, it has presided over national scientific research projects such as national key R&D program topics, key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, as well as projects commissioned by enterprises and institutions, with a total fund of more than 200 million yuan. It has won more than 10 provincial and ministerial awards such as the first prize of the Dayu Water Conservancy Science and Technology Award and the special prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the China Dam Engineering Society.

Research directions: Development and utilization of basin hydropower energy, operation simulation and risk analysis of hydropower systems, flood control and disaster reduction theory and water safety analysis, smart basin virtual simulation, smart hydropower digital twin technology, water environment and water ecology, hydraulic structures and geotechnical engineering, resettlement engineering and resettlement economy, key technologies of pumped storage.

Preferred majors: Hydraulic engineering, hydraulic engineering-related, hydraulic engineering and management, hydraulic and hydropower equipment, civil engineering, geology, civil engineering-related, power technology and other related majors.
