Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) is a key national university directly under the Ministry of Education, co-constructed with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It was among the first universities included in the "211 Project" and is a key university under the "985 Advantageous Discipline Innovation Platform" program. As a multidisciplinary, research-oriented university, BUPT features information technology, with engineering as its main focus and coordinated development across engineering, management, liberal arts, and sciences. It serves as an important base for cultivating information technology talents in China.
Since its founding in 1955, after over 60 years of development, BUPT now offers programs covering 8 academic disciplines, including science, engineering, literature, law, economics, management, education, and art, spanning 22 first-level disciplines. In 2016, three first-level disciplines of the university—Information and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, and Electronic Science and Technology—were rated as Class A disciplines in the 4th round of discipline evaluation by the Ministry of Education, with Information and Communication Engineering achieving an excellent Class A+. In 2017, two discipline clusters of the university were included in the list of "Double First-Class" disciplines. Among them, the "Information Network Science and Technology Discipline Cluster" includes two first-level national key disciplines: Information and Communication Engineering and Electronic Science and Technology; the "Computer Science and Cybersecurity Discipline Cluster" includes two first-level disciplines: Computer Science and Technology and Cyberspace Security. In 2019, two interdisciplinary disciplines—"Information Materials Science and Engineering" and "Cyberspace Governance"—were selected into the list of "High-Precision and Advanced" disciplines of Beijing universities, involving multiple first-level disciplines such as Electronic Science and Technology, Optical Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics, Cyberspace Security, Computer Science and Technology, Systems Science, Management Science and Engineering, and Law.
Currently, BUPT has 7 postdoctoral research stations, including those in Information and Communication Engineering, Electronic Science and Technology, Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Management Science and Engineering, Optical Engineering, and Cyberspace Security. Postdoctoral researchers have become a talent pool for the university's faculty and a vital force in its development. ### Basic Qualifications for Postdoctoral Recruitment
1. Aged 35 or below; for Type A postdoctoral researchers, the age should not exceed 32 in principle.
2. Possessing a strong academic background, strong innovative vitality, and academic potential; generally, no more than 3 years since obtaining a doctoral degree.
3. Priority is given to applicants from other institutions or other first-level disciplines, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary integration.
