Job Description
Position for Recruitment: Postdoctoral Fellow
Number of recruitment: 3 to 4 people
Research Project:
Brain-Computer Interaction Neuroregulation Technology and Its Clinical Applications
Research Objectives:
Integrate long-term neural activity recording with artificial intelligence algorithms to establish specific neurophysiological activity biomarkers for neurological diseases such as pain, Parkinson's disease, sleep disorders, Alzheimer's disease, and disorders of consciousness. Develop adaptive closed-loop intelligent neural regulation technologies to achieve clinical validation of closed-loop deep brain stimulation and non-invasive neural regulation techniques.
Research Content:
- Research on the Brain Network Mechanism Regulated by Deep Brain Stimulation
- Research on Neuro-markers and Closed-loop Neural Regulation Strategies and Methods
- Clinical Validity Verification Research on Implantable Closed-loop Neural Stimulation Method for Parkinson's Disease, Pain, and Disorders of Consciousness
- Non-invasive Neural Regulation: Validation Studies on Clinical Effectiveness in Sleep and Alzheimer's Disease
Applicants can choose one of the above research directions based on their own research background and interests, and at the same time conduct interdisciplinary collaborative research with the algorithm, neuroscience or clinical teams.
Benefits and Incentives:
- The contract period is for two years. Outstanding postdoctoral fellows can be extended to four years. The annual salary ranges from 250,000 to 400,000 yuan. Each case is negotiated individually. Please submit your resume for consultation.

Instructor Information: Wang Shouyan
Wang Shouyan is a highly accomplished researcher and doctoral supervisor, currently serving in multiple key roles at Fudan University. He is the Vice Dean of the Institute of Brain-Aware Intelligent Science and Technology, the Director of the Research Center for Neural Regulation and Brain-Computer Interface, and the Deputy Director of the Engineering Research Center of "Healthy Aging and Smart Healthcare" under the Ministry of Education.
Beyond his university roles, Dr. Wang holds significant leadership positions in national and regional scientific organizations. He is the Chairperson of the Neuroregulation Basic and Translational Branch of the Chinese Neuroscience Society, the Chairperson of the Neuroregulation Branch of the Shanghai Neuroscience Society, and the Vice President of the Brain-Computer Interface Industry Alliance. Additionally, he serves as a Director of the Chinese Neuroscience Society and the Executive Director of the Innovation Base for Brain-Computer Intelligence under "KeXueZhiYuan" of the China Association for Science and Technology. He also oversees postgraduate studies at the Institute of Brain-Aware Intelligent Science and Technology.
Dr. Wang's expertise has been recognized through various prestigious programs, including the "Hundred Talents Program" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is also an innovative talent under Jiangsu Province's "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program," a "Top-notch Talent" under Jiangsu Province, and a "Scarce Talent" under Suzhou City.
Academic and Professional Journey
Dr. Wang's academic journey began in 1990, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering. From 1994 to 2000, he pursued and completed his master's and doctoral degrees in Physiology at the Fourth Military Medical University, where he subsequently began his teaching career. His international experience includes postdoctoral research at the Department of Physiology and Functional Neurosurgery of the University of Oxford in the UK from 2002 to 2007, followed by a lectureship at the University of Southampton from 2007 to 2012. He then directed the Medical Electronic Technology Research Laboratory at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Suzhou, Chinese Academy of Sciences, from 2012 to 2017. In 2017, he brought his extensive expertise to the Institute of Brain-Aware Intelligent Science and Technology at Fudan University.
Research Focus and Achievements
Over the past five years, Dr. Wang has led or participated in over ten major projects, including the Science and Technology Innovation 2030 "Brain Science and Brain-like Research" Major Project and the Shanghai Science and Technology "Brain and Brain-like Intelligence" Major Project. He has also filed more than thirty invention patents. His long-standing research focuses on deep brain stimulation neuroregulation, neural information processing and modeling, and the crucial work of promoting the transformation and application of frontier neural technologies.
