School of Education, Central China Normal University
In response to the needs of the "Double First-Class" discipline construction plan and project research in education at Central China Normal University, Professor Lei Wanpeng's research team at the School of Education is now publicly recruiting 1-2 full-time postdoctoral researchers from home and abroad.
### Profile of the Cooperating Supervisor
Lei Wanpeng holds a PhD and postdoctoral qualification from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is a second-tier professor, doctoral supervisor, "Guizi Scholar," and recipient of national major talent programs. Currently serving as Dean of the Graduate School, he is also a member of the Family Education Professional Committee of the Basic Education Teaching Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Education, Vice Chairman of the Rural Education Branch of the Chinese Society of Education, President of the Hubei Education Economics Association, and Vice Chairman of the Hubei Family Education Research Association.
He has successively presided over major projects of the National Social Science Fund and major research projects of philosophy and social sciences of the Ministry of Education, as well as over 20 research projects commissioned by the State Council, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, UNESCO, and the World Bank. He has published more than 100 papers in key journals such as *Educational Research*, with over 20 papers fully reprinted by *Xinhua Digest*, *Chinese Social Sciences Digest*, and *Renmin University Photocopy Materials*. He has published several monographs and has won the first and second prizes of the National Teaching Achievements, as well as more than 10 national and provincial excellent scientific research achievement awards. He has provided over 20 educational policy consulting reports to departments such as the State Council, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, and the World Bank, which have been highly praised.
### Introduction to the Research Team
As the academic leader of the discipline of Educational Economy and Management, Professor Lei Wanpeng attaches great importance to team building, forming an innovative team full of vitality and strong cohesion, with 15 members including professors, associate professors, and doctoral students. Relying on platforms such as the National First-Class Discipline of Education at Central China Normal University, the National Engineering Laboratory for Educational Big Data Application, the Collaborative Innovation Center for Informatization and Balanced Development of Basic Education (co-constructed by provinces and ministries), the Hubei Provincial Key Humanities Research Base "Central China Normal University Basic Education Research Center," and journals *Education and Economy* and *Educational Research and Experiment*, the research team adheres to the concept of "seeking truth pragmatically, pursuing goodness and progressing upward" and emphasizes the localization and internationalization of educational research. The team aligns with the major strategy of building a strong education country, promotes organized scientific research, and has produced a series of influential results. Team members have successively received funding from the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Social Science Foundation, with 6 doctoral students winning the Excellent Empirical Research Paper Award from East China Normal University. Team members have in-depth exchanges with Columbia University, University College London, the University of Sydney, Peking University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Education University of Hong Kong, continuously promoting international cooperation in educational research methods, educational data analysis, educational policy research, and educational evaluation research, and building an open academic research and policy consulting platform.
Focusing on issues such as high-quality and balanced development of compulsory education, urban-rural integration, education for children of migrant workers, and basic education finance, the team has conducted in-depth field investigations for more than 20 years, leading students to conduct research in rural areas, and building a variety of practical fields and learning spaces for student development. It has established more than 30 county-level research bases and over 200 schools as base schools across the country, continuously promoting the "10,000 Families in 10 Years" family education survey, and establishing databases on the education of left-behind and migrant children, school layout adjustment, and basic education finance. With major projects as the link, it cultivates students' problem awareness and academic sensitivity. Adhering to an empirical research paradigm that combines quantitative and qualitative methods, the team has innovatively put forward a series of academic viewpoints that are in line with the actual situation of China's educational development in fields such as balanced development of compulsory education, school layout adjustment, education for children of migrant workers, and basic education finance, providing high-quality policy consulting for national and local educational development.
