Job Description
I. University Profile
Fuzhou University is a national "Double First-Class" construction university, a key university under the national "211 Project," and a joint university supported by the People’s Government of Fujian Province and the Ministry of Education. Founded in 1958, the university has developed into a key comprehensive university with a focus on engineering, integrating science and engineering, and coordinating the development of multiple disciplines including science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, liberal arts, law, and arts.
The university comprises 27 colleges (including 1 independent college and 1 Sino-foreign cooperative education college) and 1 affiliated provincial hospital. Currently, it has 39,333 undergraduate students (including 13,193 students from Zhicheng College) and 17,730 doctoral and master’s students. It offers 85 undergraduate programs, 39 first-level master’s degree programs, 25 professional master’s degree categories, 19 first-level doctoral degree programs, 5 professional doctoral degree categories, and 12 postdoctoral research stations.
Fuzhou University boasts 1 national key discipline and 1 national key (cultivated) discipline. Its Chemistry discipline has been reselected into the list of world-class discipline construction. Twelve disciplines have entered the top 1% of ESI global rankings, among which Chemistry, Engineering, and Materials Science rank among the top 1‰.
In terms of comprehensive strength, the university ranks 51st among mainland universities in the "2024 Academic Ranking of World Universities" (ARWU), 54th in the "USNews 2024-2025 Best Global Universities Rankings," 43rd in the "2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings," and 55th in the "2024 QS Asian University Rankings."
The university currently has 3,355 faculty members (including 2,398 full-time teachers), with 146 person-times (100 individuals) of national-level talents and 1,042 person-times (789 individuals) of provincial-level talents. ### II. Application Requirements
1. **Basic Requirements**: Generally, under 35 years old (inclusive), with a doctoral degree from well-known domestic or foreign universities or research institutions;
2. **Moral Qualities**: Possess good ideological and political qualities and noble moral character, with the spirit of innovation, truth-seeking, collaboration, and dedication, and have both ability and integrity;
3. **Research Capabilities**: As the first author, have published 3 or more high-quality academic papers in excellent journals recognized by the university. Special note: 1 paper in an internationally top journal recognized by the university can be deemed equivalent to 2 papers in excellent journals;
4. **In-station Requirements**: The postdoctoral research period is generally 3 years. During the period in the station, full-time work is required, and relevant national laws, regulations, and the university’s rules and regulations must be strictly observed.

### III. Support Policies
1. The annual salary of faculty postdoctoral researchers is 350,000 yuan, which is pre-tax income, including salary, allowances, "five social insurances and one housing fund" (including the unit’s contribution), housing subsidies, and other benefits;
2. The university provides an apartment for postdoctoral researchers to rent during their stay;
3. They are entitled to the same preferential policies for children’s admission as formal faculty and staff of the university;
4. High-level scientific research achievements (such as papers, patents, projects, etc.) obtained during the stay with Fuzhou University as the first unit will be given additional rewards by the university in accordance with relevant scientific research reward measures;
5. During the stay, they can participate in the evaluation of professional and technical positions in accordance with national and university regulations on professional and technical position evaluation;
6. The cooperating supervisor may provide additional allowance support based on the postdoctoral researcher’s research performance and work during the stay (the payment method is determined by the supervisor).
### IV. Assessment and Completion of Postdoctoral Program
1. Faculty postdoctoral researchers will undergo an annual assessment by their college, postdoctoral station, and cooperating supervisor at the end of each year of their stay. If the assessment is unsatisfactory, they will be transferred to ordinary full-time postdoctoral researchers after being reported by the college.
2. Faculty postdoctoral researchers can apply to complete the program after the full three-year term. The university and the recruiting college will conduct an exit assessment on their research ability, work performance, ideological and political quality, etc. Those who pass the assessment can go through the exit procedures. Those who pass the assessment but do not meet the conditions for staying as faculty will complete the exit procedures as full-time postdoctoral researchers through the university’s Postdoctoral Comprehensive Management Office and seek employment independently. Those who withdraw from the program midway or fail the exit assessment will complete the withdrawal procedures as full-time postdoctoral researchers through the university’s Postdoctoral Comprehensive Management Office. Those who meet the conditions for staying as faculty before the three-year term but give up the qualification will be treated as withdrawing from the program.
3. Faculty postdoctoral researchers who complete the program with a good or higher assessment result, wish to stay as faculty, and meet the conditions for faculty postdoctoral researchers to stay at the university in the year of admission can apply to stay. For those who stay as faculty, the university will provide an additional housing allowance of 150,000 yuan on top of the normal recruitment benefits and directly appoint them as associate researchers.
